# How do I clean my Signature?

After brewing, separate you cylinder and portafilter: We recommend doing so side-ways, over the sink, so any residual water can drain away. 

Remove used espresso grounds from your portafilter by knocking them out against the side of a trash can or knock-box, invert the portafilter and blow into the spout, or dig the grounds out with a utensil. Once grounds are removed, rinse all brewing parts in cool water. No soap needed! It may affect the taste of your espresso.

Never put Flair parts in dishwasher. Wipe your press stand down after use with a clean cloth after use, using no cleaning agents or chemicals. 

Do not submerge pressure gauge under water: It does not require cleaning, as it does not contact any coffee/liquid when brewing.
